Karen Linnea Benson began her piano career at age
5. She studied under Marcia and Bernard Weiser at the University of Minnesota and presented her first solo recital on the
University stage at age 17. Her talents continued to blossom at St. Olaf College where she was a Piano Performance major and
featured performer with the St. Olaf College Orchestra.
Karen’s lifelong commitment to creative, artistic expression includes piano, violin and dance
performance. She has also shared her mastery through teaching piano and violin at several studios on the East Coast as well
as in the Minneapolis St. Paul area.
Currently, Karen is teaching at Linnea B Studios
in Plymouth, which she founded in 2007.
This CD is dedicated to her mother Hilvie, Karen’s first piano teacher and ongoing
musical inspiration, and her son Aaron, cherished joy of her heart.
